A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Sema Taylor.

I’m a psychologist and clinical psychology registrar, currently working towards endorsement as a clinical psychologist. I’m passionate about helping people understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful change in their lives. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, understood and able to be curious about what’s going on.

Training & experience

I have a broad foundation of training and experience that I bring to my work, having completed a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) with Honours, a Master of Occupational Therapy, and a Master of Clinical Psychology.

During my career, I have worked with people across private practice, not-for-profit, and public health settings. My experience has included working with people who have experienced trauma, mental health difficulties, grief and loss, disability, and chronic health conditions.

I continue to undertake professional development to ensure my practice remains thoughtful, evidence-informed, and responsive to the needs of each person with whom I work.

Psychology supervision

I am also a Psychology Board of Australia-approved supervisor and able to offer supervision to both provisional and registered psychologists, with a particular interest in supporting those developing their skills in trauma-focused therapies.

Why Driftwood?

The name Driftwood reflects the idea that, like driftwood carried by the ocean, we are shaped by where we have been and changed by what we encounter along the way. While our experiences leave their mark, they can also become a source of perspective and growth.
